You should use Shark (part of the CHUD Tools) to see where the time
is being spent. It's easy to use - you can start it up from within
XCode (with your development build - I think it needs to have
debugging turned on if you want to see source code lines), then all
you have to do is press Shark's Start button and wait for the report.
