I just installed Apache 2 and Subversion locally for my projects. I configured Apache 2 to listen on port 8800 and successfully committed my initial repository layout with the svn tool (and checked out an initial working copy). However, Xcode continues to give me an "SCM Error: SCM could not go online. Could not reach host: localhost:8800" error when I choose SCM > Go Online. The path to the Subversion tool is correct and SCM is enabled in the project settings. I couldn't find anything in the list archives related to this particular error. Does anyone have any pointers as to what the problem might be? I _am_ able to view the repository via Safari at http://localhost:8800/svn/ but apparently Xcode doesn't like something about my setup.

Curiously, I can also set the Subversion tool path to "/nonsense" and still get the same error. It doesn't look like the svn tool is even being invoked at all. If I set the SCM system to CVS, it goes online automatically. If I set it to Perforce, it complains that it can't find the tool. But with SVN, all I get is the cryptic "SCM could not go online" error irrespective of whether the svn tool path is even correct or not.
