XCode Applescript debugger not stopping at break points

Using XCode 1.5, and an AppleScript code. Two questions:

Is there a setting for XCode so that when code is running and encounters an error, that the debugger is automatically invoked at the offending line of code?

It seems that the debugger does not stop at a break point, when there is a Try .. On Error statement in the code. It just skips it altogether.
