You see this error if the project that you are using is not in the root directory that is specified in the p4 client file. This can happen when you checkout projects into one location and change the root directory in the p4 client afterwards.

Sometimes launching the keychain application and deleting the perforce key chain helps in resetting if it is different from the above mentioned case.

All the SCM Results ever show is what amounts to a 'p4 client' command (attached below). All SCM operations (add, edit, update) silently fail. When I try 'SCM/Refresh entire project', alls I get is an alert saying "No files in this project were found under the Perforce root: " (no more text after the colon).
What am I missing?
