building only for powerpc

  • Subject: building only for powerpc

I only want to build for PowerPC, but the instructions for turning off
universals don't appear to work. After reading:
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/DeveloperTools/Conceptual/XcodeUserGuide21/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/05_07_bs_building_product/chapter_33_section_6.html

I do the following:
Project > Edit Project Settings
Configuration: All Configurations
Collection: Architectures
select "Architectures" "$(NATIVE_ARCH)"
click Edit
The dialog indicates that only PowerPC is selected

I repeat with Configuration: Release.

Now I go to the build window, choose
Active Build Configuration: Release

I click "Clean All" and the "Build".

Xcode proceeds to make "-arch ppc" and then "-arch i386", and then
CreateUniversalBinary.

How do I get it to only build for PowerPC? What advice should I have
followed rather than the documentation cited above? Thanks,

Charles
