I've updated Xcode to 2.4 and tried to make my project created by

Do I have to wait until the problem will be fixed?
You should first and foremost submit a full report with
preprocessed source, otherwise waiting will possibly not even help
(since to be able to fix a bug, you generally have to be able to
reproduce it). You can try whether selecting a different compiler
version works around it. Otherwise you indeed may have no choice
but to downgrade back to 2.3
The OP's experience may differ, but I doubt if downgrading would
help. I've had this GCC 4 crash with both Xcode 2.3 and 2.4. I also
sometimes get the variation "Internal compiler error: Segmentation
fault". I haven't submitted a bug report for two reasons: Firstly,
I'm reluctant to submit the source of a large shareware project. But
more importantly, the bug seems to be completely unpredictable.
Sometimes GCC crashes, more often it doesn't.
The only 100% reliable workaround I've found is to switch my targets
to use GCC 3.3.
