Shawn, changing the file type within Xcode does not work, unfortunately,
does not work.
What DOES work is setting Xcode to be the "open with" application for
those
files. But I don't really want to do this, since it's only on my
system.

Maybe try setting the file type of your .INL files to be header files?
(sourcecode.c.h)
You can bulk select your .INL files in xcode, get info (commnad-i), and
then select the file type in the resulting info pane. (likely other ways
exist to do this and in a more universal fashion but at least you can
test the theory)
