I could go for it either way -- every setting is out in the
open and well documented, or every setting is handled
through the GUI. Now, it's just lots of land-mines, with
multiple settings for the same things that then conflict
with each other.

I wouldn't know, since I can't run the newer releases.
Maybe that's why I'm thinking I'd rather see 2-3 bug fix
cycles, then some of the features we were asking for 6-7
years ago, before going back to hopping like fleas from one
buzz-word of the day to another.
