Hello Fred,
a lot of our apps are set up this way, 10.2 SDK gcc 3.3 PPC and 10.4
SDK gcc 4 for Intel. However, we deploy them as UB. Is there a
compelling reason not to do this for you?
Sometimes, when taking advantages of specific 10.4 features, this is
packaged into loadable bundles which can be loaded at runtime, if
running on 10.4 (or later)
I hope this answers your question, kinda

I am using XCode 2.4.1. Building what was a CodeWarrior/PowerPlant
application. Building, running, life is good.
My build has 2 targets:
Intel-only, gcc 4.0, OS X 10.4 SDK
ppc-only, gcc 3.3, OS X 10.2 SDK
Our installer chooses which one to install based on platform.
We figured this was the simplest way to support PPCs which might
be running systems earlier than 10.4.
Our users will not be dragging apps from one platform to another.
Notice that the first target is not a UB, just Intel.
Is there a compelling reason why we should have a true UB
with a PPC side, for 10.4 and up?
thanks,
fred
