i periodically experience extreme wonkiness with Xcode where it will
simply refuse to debug projects any more or whatever.
I just delete the USERNAME.mode1 and USERNAME.pbxuser files in the
.xcodeproj/ directory, and this has fixed the problem every single
time.

XCode has got into a state where it can no longer trigger any
breakpoints via my app controls in my Carbon app, when I could for
the longest time. The configuration is Debug; however, when I
launch the app clicking on Debug, it appears below the XCode windows
in the Z order, so that I can't interact with the application. If I
hide XCode to reveal the application or click on it via Expose, it
won't respond to any control clicks, so I can't trigger any
breakpoints via any of the app controls. Weird. Launching the app
outside of XCode has no problems. Is there a setting that has been
inadvertently set?
