Spin Control can't sample unresponsive Xcode 3

Hi,

Today, Xcode 3 decided to become unresponsive once again. As in the past, I launched Spin Control to try to get a sample. Like every other time, it tells me that the sample time was 16:00:00, Seconds are 0.00 seconds. The last entry in my list of probably 30 detected hangs of Xcode says "(sampled for the maximum time)." At the top of the window, it says, "Xcode (160) was unresponsive for a maximum sampling time of 60 seconds." When I Show text report, I get

Call graph:

Total number in stack (recursive counted multiple, when >=5):

Sort by top of stack, same collapsed (when >= 5):

Not very enlightening. This is what they all show. (It's taken 15 minutes, but I managed to get Xcode to quit via osascript and now Spin Control has changed the sample time to 02:12:57, 225.94 seconds and still no show text report. In addition, it keeps changing between saying that it's responsive and unresponsive. ps assures me that it isn't running.)

Before it finally quit, and before I told it to quit, I ran top and this is the output I captured.

PID COMMAND %CPU TIME #TH #PRTS #MREGS RPRVT RSHRD RSIZE VSIZE
160 Xcode 85.8% 9:33:30 19 1723 14257 1162M+ 13M- 1187M + 13G+

That seems insane to me, is that normal?

This latest hang happened when I scrolled a file slightly. Checking the Console, I find that it is filled with entries like

11/13/07 2:14:45 AM Spin Control[941] *** Process unreadable: 2

More interestingly are the earlier lines like:

11/13/07 2:13:42 AM [0x0-0xdc0dc].com.apple.spincontrol[941] vmutils: can't find image for dynamic loader used by /Developer/ Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode [160]!

Clearly, something is wrong and I need to file a bug report. I don't know what data to include here though. I have really nothing to say about Xcode except that at times it is completely unusable because even the simplest task of scrolling a file takes 20 minutes to complete, but no data to show that at all. Do I file one against spin control?

Do other people see this? Can anything be done? Is this at all related to the stream of lines like

11/13/07 1:39:37 AM [0x0-0x19019].com.apple.Xcode[160] Xcode(160,0x104b58000) malloc: free_garbage: garbage ptr = 0x802486d80, has non-zero refcount = 1

that fill up the Console?
