Not anytime soon. At this point it's more about giving developers
more reason to switch to Cocoa.
Has apple completely abandoned C++ for Carbon (Obj-C)?
Not sure what you mean by the parenthetical (Obj-C), but Apple has
definitely not abandoned C++ for anything.
What does that do for portability if you are writing apps for
linux, mac and windows?
You design your application differently. The Mac interface is written
in Cocoa, while the platform-independent stuff can be written in C or
C++.
