I could *swear* that in Xcode 2.4, if I renamed a file in the project window, it would rename it on disk. I really liked that behavior. But trying the same thing in Xcode 3, it doesn't behave that way.

In Xcode 2.4 I would choose Rename from the contextual menu. In Xcode 3, I just click once on the file name (after selecting it). I can rename the file in that list, but the name stays the same on disk.

Is this a bug? Am I remembering 2.4 wrong?

Renaming from the contextual menu or by editing the name in the project window changes the name of the file on disk for me. Are you sure you're looking at the right copy of the file in the Finder and not a backup or something?

Try selecting "Reveal in Finder" from the contextual menu after you rename a file and see where it takes you.
