FWIW I do all of my code searches other than find in a single file in Code Warrior. putting up with the nuisance of having to keep both apps open to get CW's search features.

I don't pretend to know the minds of the members of the Xcode team, but I'm willing to go out on a limb and speculate that (a) perhaps they don't really consider those things "better" and/or (2) there are higher things on their priority list. :-)

Well, I know that some of these issues, like syntax coloring are high on developers' priority lists, as in almost every developer wants improved syntax coloring, and there are other things they want as well. I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that thinks Xcode's current syntax coloring is better than what CodeWarrior had. Yes, Xcode 3 finally addresses this, after seven years. Why so long?

I'm going to go out on a limb and wonder if enough people on the Xcode team understands the way Mac users work. Xcode certainly doesn't show a strong Mac-like, user-friendly philosophy in its design. Instead, it smacks too much of geek and Unix.
