Gang,
I haven't been following all the discussions of Leopard and Xcode 3
very closely but I do need to ask a simple question. I can still
use Xcode 2.4+ on Leopard without any problems, correct? Does
anyone know of any stumbling blocks. I intend to upgrade to Leopard
sometime this weekend. I will probably do my Dual-G5 first to check
things out a bit with Xcode prior to my MacBook Pro (where I do all
my work).
However, my assumption is that there is no problem in continuing to
use Xcode 2.4+ on Leopard for a bit of time. If anyone knows a
contrary thought to this, let me know.
Xcode 2.4.x is not supported on Leopard. However, we are planning to
release Xcode 2.5 developer tools that will be supported on Tiger and
Leopard as a transitional step to moving to Xcode 3.0. More info
coming soon...

Scott -- OK, so Xcode 2.4+ is not supported on Leopard. Is the
expectation
that everyone upgrade to Xcode 3 with the Leopard upgrade? I can't
remember what I did the last time (with Tiger).
I have no objections to upgrading to Xcode 3, I just realize it was
available
right away.
The expectation is that you will upgrade to Xcode 3 when moving over
to Leopard. In addition, you can install the Xcode 2.5 developer tools
if want to be able to continue to use the older Xcode 2.x tools on
Leopard for some projects.
I should be clear that the XcodeTools installer is on the Leopard DVD,
but is not part of the main Mac OS X installer (you'll find it inside
the Optional Installs folder on the DVD).
