No, there are no other types of lines drawn besides inheritance in the
current class model.
File bugs for what you'd like to see, but you are probably better off
using a dedicated UML diagraming tool than Xcode if you want in-depth
UML support. (I have only heard of such tools for Windows, so your
mileage may vary.)
2. What does the line icon in the class diagram do?
When I select it and attempt to draw a line, it
appears and then disappears once the mouse button is
released.
If you have added a comment -- by clicking on the Comment tool icon
and then clicking and dragging in an empty area in the diagram to
create a rectangle-- you can connect that comment to a class node by
using the line tool.
3. Is it possible to copy the diagram into the
clipboard so that it can be pasted as an image into
other documents such as Keynote or MS Word? Or is
there some other means of export, aside from printing
to a pdf file?
Select the nodes you'd like, hold down the option key, and then drag
by one of the nodes to the Desktop. This should get you a clipping
file of just those nodes and their connecting lines.
