replacing a superclass in the nib

Hi,

How to you get IB to recognize that you have replaced the superclass for a custom view? It seems to retain the old hierarchy in a file called classes.nib and there are some references to the old superclass in the username.pbxuser file. Correcting the information in the classes.nib file doesn't stop the warning message. Including an empty file for the old superclass seems to eliminate the warning, but leaves me wondering what mischief might result from this arrangement. There must be a better way.

Thanks,
Denise
