MallocDebug hangs

Because of the problem with GuardMalloc I tried running MallocDebug. Initially it seems to work but when I click "Update" after a while MallocDebug hangs. Once my entire computer froze.

Is MallocDebug broken too?

Xcode 3.0, MallocDebug 1.7, Mac OS X 5.4
