Flaky Copy Files build phase under 3.1

Hi all,

I'm having some problems with the new Xcode 3.1. Our release process involves doing a build on a server using xcodebuild; we do things that way so it's reproducible and so we're in control over the versions of all of the build tools and scripts and the like that get used for building released versions of our apps.

Anyway, we've installed Xcode 3.1, and when we try to use xcodebuild to do a build of one of our products, we get PBXCp failures because xcodebuild is trying to copy from the Debug configuration of one of the frameworks in a subproject rather than copying the Release configuration. Exactly which framework seems to vary randomly... sometimes it's more than one, most often it's one particular framework but I've seen it get that right and then go wrong with a different one on at least one occasion today.

This sometimes happens in Xcode as well, though I have one copy of our source tree where it almost never happens (which I diffed against the copies where it does happen and there are *no* differences... literally none, other than the path to the source tree in question). It seems (superficially) to happen less in Xcode than in xcodebuild, but I think the problem is still there.

Is anyone else seeing this kind of behaviour?

I'll try to knock up a smaller test case that I can send in with a bug report.

I really don't want to have to go back to 3.0 (3.1 has *lots* of improvements that I like)...

Kind regards,

Alastair.
