I'm not much of a nuts and bolts unix kind of guy (I came from the RPG world). I appreciate everyone's help with this.

A leading "." means "the current directory", so unless Xcode is in a subdirectory of the current directory (unlikely), this is wrong. It's also unnecessary, because a directory name specified without anything in front of it means "a subdirectory of the current directory". A leading "/" means "the root directory", and is how you specify absolute locations.
