At the risk of going farther off-topic, I recommend using a distributed version-control system for your own projects. They're easier to configure, they don't require a server to be on all the time, and they're great for laptops because they don't require connectivity to the network.

I like Mercurial <http://www.selenic.com/mercurial/wiki/index.cgi>, but Git is also popular.

The drawback is there's no Xcode integration. Unfortunately the Xcode SCM plugin interface appears to be private, so I don't know how feasible it is for anyone to add support for more systems.
