Which is to say forced to code alone in the dark, forced to repeat the
same mistakes others have dealt with and to send bug reports to a
blackhole-like mechanism with very little feedback.
Every year that I've been to WWDC (I couldn't go this year), this has
been a big complaint among developers. Every year, Apple acknowledges,
yet ignores, the issue. I believe Applelink was the last place that
had a forum to discuss NDA'd material (back in the late 80s, early
90s).
It's not like the tools aren't available to create private forums.
Perhaps it is time for Apple to start THINKING DIFFERENT on how they
handle NDA'd material. In particular, by finally providing a forum
where developers can discuss, learn current pitfalls (and workarounds)
of current NDA'd material.
Given the large number of Apple developers now, the current approach
of "leave 'em in the dark" just is not going to work anymore.
