Indeed! Thanks so much, that solves my problem.

I've discovered that the problem only occurs when the page being targeted by the back-browsing operation was displaying a mini-TOC (the one that most tutorials come with which you can show and hide). If you hide the TOC, click next and then back it works. I assume it doesn't play well with framed pages.
