I filed a bug on this a while ago.

In the Options window for 'In Frameworks' I have the following settings:

Search in open projects
All files in this project
Frameworks only

When I search it gives results from source files in the project as well as the Framework headers. I assume it shouldn't do that with these settings.

Searching with 'In Project' works as I expect and with 'In Project and Frameworks' gives the same results as 'In Frameworks' although the settings are different.

When I start a search in Frameworks I always see Xcode 3.0 searching my project files first. Is this a known bug?

Possibly, but not necessarily.

All of the search "locations" in the Project Find dialog are just stored "find sets", and can be edited. Often people who don't know this inadvertently edit the preconfigured find sets, and what's worse, those find sets are global to all projects.

So it could be that your "In Frameworks" find set, if you choose Options... and look, actually is set up to look in your project. If it is, you can change it back and then it will work according to its name.
