cannot export dtrace scripts from instruments

I can't seem to be able to export DTrace scripts from Instruments 1.5 (50). The menu options are grayed out both for custom (all DTrace) and built-in instruments.

I'm on Leopard 10.5.8 and the last XCode I installed was 313_2736.

How do I work around this issue?
