Stripping

I have three static libs (.a) that are required for my application. I had been stripping these libs of all symbols before linking with my app. Suddenly this process quit working giving me an error when linking that symbols in my libs are visible in the lib but hidden from the app. If I do not strip the libs before linking with my app the error goes away.

My app and libs need to be stripped for protection.

So, if I choose to Strip Linked Product in my app settings will this also strip the static linked libs as well?
