Agreed.

I don't recall the behavior on Xcode 3.1, but your observation is correct for both Core Data backed NSArrayControllers and NSArray backed controllers. I (perhaps erroneously) interpreted the inability to display the contents (in XCode) as a function of the NSArrayController, but this may just be bug in Xcode. Certainly the appearance of the Last/all/next buttons would imply that they should be shown.

So in gdb you enter

that should get you what you need.

Perhaps I did not express myself very clearly. What I am trying to point out
is that the controller evidently *intends* to show me some entity values -
that is apparently what the Last, All, and Next buttons are about. But there
are no values; the Last, All, and Next buttons are the only thing I see when
I open the flippy triangle, and clicking them does nothing except change
what buttons are present.

If I choose View in Expressions Window, I *do* sometimes see some values
there, displayed via the _objects ivar. (And I can then print a single
entity's description to the console.) But therefore, I also expect to see
the _objects ivar, and these values, in the regular old variables window.
But I don't. All I see is these buttons.

So that looks like a bug to me.

I'm hoping to get a look at my entities in the debugger. I've got an
outlet
to the NSArrayController that manages the entities, but when I open
its

and
"All" that don't do anything discernable, and nothing else. Am I
trying to
do something that GDB just doesn't do? (In general I don't seem to
be having
any luck viewing collections in the debugger.) Thx - m.
