I'm thinking like an OS engineer. :) We like to be very precise about
what we support and what we don't, because if you're imprecise, you
wind up having to support behavior in perpetuity that you never meant
to implement in the first place.
Are you sure? In some initial experimenting a few weeks ago, I found
that a
globally floating window blocked access to some accessibility elements
of
the application hidden underneath it. I've forgotten exactly what I was
doing at the time. I'll look at this further, because it is clearly
the best
way to go if it will work.
That might be a problem, but I honestly don't know for sure.
