I think NSAccessibilityMarkerGroupUIElementsAttribute might have been
intended to be the "tab well" - which I don't think has any way to be
identified starting from the ruler. There's an AXDescription (at
least on the one in TextEdit), but that's not a "reliable" way to
locate it. And then there's all those inexplicable layers of
grouping, ugh!
NSAccessibilityMarkerValuesAttribute eludes my memory. It might have
been intended to be an array of ui elements (static text)
representing the numeric values on the ruler. Probably just an
orphaned constant from an early attempt at accessorizing rulers.
As you say, neither seems to be implemented anywhere.
I'm not sure that it's really possible for AppKit to implement
NSAccessibilityMarkerGroupUIElementsAttribute - that may be something
we have to leave up to the app (e.g. TextEdit). In which case, it's
lack of implementation is a TextEdit bug.
NSAccessibilityMarkerValuesAttribute doesn't really seem useful to
me. But it seems like some indication of what values are allowable
for a marker would be useful (e.g. min/max).
In any event, there's clearly more work needed in this area so file a
bug.

Is this correct? Will they eventually be implemented? What are they
for?
