Subject: Re: Resend: MacOS Accessability Questions
I know Apple offers their accessibility testing labs, but if you're
interested, I'd be willing to test your applications for you. I
rely on Voice Over to use the computer every day. I can easily
tell you what works for blind users, and what doesn't. Since vo is
my only means of access to the Mac OSX, I have a unique point of
view. I'm working on programming new apps as well, but it is hard
work, since interface builder is less than completely accessible,
and doing development without it is not an easy thing to do.
However, I use mac for everything, so have a grasp on what works
and what doesn't. I'm also part of a mailing list where additional
testers who ar also dependant on voiceover could be asked to test
your app as well.
I can't promise an answer on technical programming quiries, but I
can give feedback on interface items that aren't usable, or may be
difficult to operate. I make the same offer to anyone who wants to
test their programs before releasing them. I do not have lists of
specs for 501 ADA compliance, nor do I have specs for other
countries accessiblity standards. But, I can point out what works,
and what doesn't, and would be glad to do so for anyone willing to
make their programs work as well as possible for visually impaired
users.

Hi All,
Didn't get any answers, so thought I might ping again, as I want
to make
the application we have as accessibly we can.
Thanks
Mark.

Hi,
Was wondering if this was the right mailing list to ask about
accessibility and how it interacts with the user and what the desired
functionality were needed for.
As we have developed a WebKit enabled application and we need to be
accessibility friendly due to UK law, but some of the accessibility
behaviors don't seem right to me and would like some ask some
questions
regarding this.
e.g. What it is desired effect having the item chooser and why
does it
alpha sort everything.
Thanks
Mark.
