I think he's refering to using the Accessibility API for intercpeting
events in Front Row - as using Accessibility to obtain events on an
external app using an Event Target is a common hack.

Did anyone tried accessing the Remote control (of the FrontRow) via
accessibility API?
Why would Accessibility care about the FrontRow remote? Accessibility
as it stands right now is for querying and setting the visual parts of
the UI for view-impaired users.
If you want to simply use the remote in your own app, there's an
AppleRemote Cocoa sample project on the net for that. If you want to
control front row via an alternate input device, I'd recommend you
synthesize the keyboard shortcuts, but I don't know whether appearance
can actually query FrontRow's menus.
