Thanks, but unless there's something I don't understand, I can't use
VoiceOver because I already use speech recognition.
(And the option to have speech recognition active only if one holds
down a key isn't useful for people who can't use keys normally.)
The key combination is control-option, (not control-alt) but Greg's
point is a valid one. ctrl-option-shift-M will bring up a contextual
menu. What's to prevent using voiceover to get at the items even if
speech recognition is on?
Why not assign a command to turn on/off voiceover, then just use it to
reach the contextual items when necessary. Also, I think it may be
possible to assign the function to a keypad function if so desired,
that may make it easier for you as well.
I don't use speech recognition, though I do use voiceover, so if these
points don't work, then please discuss, perhaps we could find
something that would work after all.
