No "undo" when setting AXTextArea "value"-related attributes

Target TextEdit with UIBrowser on Leopard, create a text window, type in some text, then focus UI Browser on the text area.

Neither setting the text area's "value" (which is all the text) nor setting the "selected text" value gets picked up by Undo. In fact, the window never gets a "modified" indicator, and you can close it without being prompted to do so.

Is this expected behavior? Is it desired behavior? [Should I enter a bug?]
