The scenario is an app displays a view containing icons that represent its data objects. VoiceOver properly announces the objects, but I'm not clear as to how selection for these objects should be implemented.
For a simple solution, the objects respond to the "press" action. This works when the VO user presses VO-Space to select a single object. However, multiple objects in the view can be selected with the mouse. VO contains commands to support multiple selection (I've seen these work in the Finder and other places), but how should the objects in this view expect to be notified that VO wishes to change the selection state of an item without deselecting the others, as happens with the "press" action?
