Should I post any notifications when my control becomes enabled/disabled?

My control can be enabled or disabled depending on some user actions. It's not primary value of the control though, but its appearance (like enabled/disabled state of NSTextField).
Should I post a notification by using NSAccessibilityPostNotification and if so, what notification should I post?
