We are porting an application to the Mac and to IOS, that needs to write characters directly to the connected Braille display without any translation.
The application also needs to have access to any keystrokes that are sent from the display. It appears that when a Braille display is connected it always becomes captive to VoiceOver either via Bluetooth or USB direct. Is there a solution that would permit us to have our application communicate directly with the Braille display and bypass VoiceOver?
Or, alternatively is there a transparent mode that would permit the display to remain a client of VoiceOver but also permit another app to send and receive information without any translation?
