With VoiceOver on iOS, useful gestures include a four-finger tap, toward
the top or bottom of the screen, for moving focus to the first or last
element, respectively. Is there also a way to move focus to the top or
bottom of scrollable content? Three-finger swipes, upwoard or downward,
will scroll content vertically, but sometimes a shortcut would be
helpful to move directly to the start or end of content that spans
multiple screens.
I read somewhere that tapping the status bar will perform such a
shortcut but do not find that documented officially for VoiceOver
users. Sometimes, moving to the boundaries of content is more
meaningful than moving to the boundaries of the screen, e.g., to reach a
comment section that follows a long news article. Although not as
efficient, touch exploration can move focus to the first or last screen
element, so it seems that sometimes the four-finger gestures would be
more valuable when applied to focused content rather than the screen.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Jamal
