Reading files in MacOS X AppleScripts (repost)

  • Subject: Reading files in MacOS X AppleScripts (repost)

N.b.: I apologize for reposting; I received an email that this message was rejected because I was not [yet] subscribed to the mailing list.

I have had problems with "open file access" commands followed by "read file"
commands in AppleScript under MacOS X. When one uses the "open file access"
command, a reference number is assigned to the file. However, when "read
file" comes along, it can't find the referenced file. It should be noted
that writing to the file works fine.

Does anyone have any insight into this problem?

Thanks,

Dan
