Ok,
that work. But it sooooo slow. I have a text file with about 5000
line and I have to delete about 4000 but each line take about 1 or 2
seconds to delete and I have to do this once a day. Sure it will be at one
in the morning, but it will take what, 1 or 2 hours?
Anyone know how to make it faster?
Could you post the actual problem? If the lines are
contiguous the solution is dead simple. Furthermore, it seems that
it is unlikely you actually need BBEdit to accomplish the actual
task. You can do things like copy all of the paragraphs you are
keeping into a buffer, clear the file, and the copy them back out.
This allows straight AppleScript without and OSAX (which is usually
much faster).
Also, if you wish to use BBEdit it is much faster if the
script is attached to BBEdit.
