While Adobe did buy the original concept and implementation, we also did
a significant amount of work updating it for Illustrator 9, adding
support for new feature, expanding the object model, and providing a very
similar scripting interface for VisualBasic on Windows. Another large
chunk of work went into producing a large number of examples and over 250
pages of documentation.
