Excuse me, but you seem to be missing a fine point here. "Style" implies
that either way, functionality is not affected. On the contrary,
functionality is indeed affected if you send commands to the wrong
applications. Therefore this is not an issue of style, but of proper
scripting practices.

I won't repeat the entire explanation again here. And I'm not going to get
into a debate with you about it. My only interest here is in passing on the
knowledge I have gained. If you are interested in improving your scripting
practices regarding the usage of tell, see my recent reply to Bruce
Robertson Re: Newbie Progress Bar for more of an explanation on the matter.
If you aren't interested, then so be it - you'll just have to learn the hard
way like I did.
