Jolly Roger responded:
<< I can't stand the Launcher. I use DragThing. It's way better than the
Launcher could ever hope to be. Maybe you should check out DragThing?>>
I have no love for the Launcher either. I prefer the OneClick launch strip.
But there are almost 100 Mac users in this newsroom, and many of them would
be paralyzed without the Launcher.
and Stever Goodman responded:
<<Why not set the launcher not to launch at start up in the general control
panel and then have the script open it when it is done?>>
Which is exactly what my startup script does now. It works but its really
counterintuitive. Besides that, some folks don't want the Launcher and so
I've had to invent a whole 'nuther interface so that they can turn it off.
I'm still wondering what kind of beast this thing is. It shows up in the
application menu as if it were an app. But it's the file type is cdev and I
sure can't get it to respond to "quit"
