THANKS! I feel like a jackass - I first tried ("*%" & thisStr & "*"),
reversing the & and the *

Thanks again... Btw, the as string was a remnant of my copy-paste-simplify
routine for the sake of the mailing list :)

This is why I use mailing lists! Always a good, quick answer :)
