Please Help Me...

...I'm about to go postal on the machines in our office.

On certain iMacs (with all software and firmware updates), scripts with
program linking tells will not compile, erring with "Can't find remote
machine". The machine, of course, is on the network and easily accessed by
both conventional AppleTalk and TCP/IP methods (through the Choose and over
the internet).

For mounting the volumes on these "lost machines", the
"afp://ip.address/vol_name" syntax works fine. But program linking (and
"mount volume vol_name on server server_name" will not.

I've tried:
tell app "finder" of machine "mac_name"...
tell app "finder" of machine "afp://ip.address"...
tell app "finder" of machine "http://ip.address";... (Web Sharing on)
...and every other thinkable permutation.

Please please, smarter-than-I people. Tell me what I'm missing...
Jed
