You know, I also referred to Bill Cheeseman's article on Scripter 2 and
Scripter PE. I then went and read it over, and discovered that it really
does a lousy job of comparing the two. To be fair, he was not attempting a
comparison, just a sort of update to a review of an earlier version, before
PE existed. Bill gives a general sketch of the differences but later in the
article there are sentences like, "Some of these features are not in the
personal edition." Naturally what anyone choosing between the two needs is a
<list> of what "some of these features" are!

These are fair points. I will go back to the notes I made while I was
writing the Scripter and Scripter PE Help files, and see if I can add a
clear list of differences to my review. It should be up on my web site by
noon EST tomorrow (Thursday).

First, I want to thank everyone who responded both on and off of the list. I've gone ahead and ordered Scripter LE, and if, after reviewing the pending list of differences, I decide that I can't live without the full version, I can always upgrade without losing my original purchase price.

Bill, I'll be looking forward to the updated list with almost as much anticipation as I have toward the outcome of the presidential election. Can you try to update your page before 5PM EDT so it doesn't conflict with the results of the recount? :p

Thanks again to everyone.

Later,
