QuickTime is cross platform. If the recipient has QT installed,
the movie can be watched.

I automate export of QT movies generated from CT, ultrasound and
MR files which can be viewed on various platforms, in this way.

For other technologies, you can export specific formats and as
long as the recipient has the appropriate viewing apps, they will be
accessible.

For example, MPEG-3 can be viewed by Flash and a variety of other
apps on other platforms.

QT supports 200+ formats.
