We may not be first (I think Smile is the app most infused with AppleScript support) but Creator2 is right up there. C2 uses an object model, has great recordability, you can attach your scripts to menu items and give those menu items keyboard shortcuts, and it has extensive whose clause support.
There is a demo available at <
http://www.creator2.com/>; it supports all scripting except for save and export (which are disabled throughout the demo).
