OSA Menu

I can't for the life of me figure out how to save an Apple Script so it will
behave like a good little script and run while keeping the system's mouth
shut!

No matter how I save the script, In Script Debugger or Script Editor;
as Classic Applet or OSX applet I keep getting dialogs or script editor
windows opening.

When I put a few scripts to change the system Appearance and Screen Mode
into OSA Menu's "UniversalScripts" folder, these same scripts show up as
menu items. If a script is selected from here, a script editor window
invariably opens displaying the script regardless of how the thing was saved.
Even when opening the Universal Scripts folder, and double-clicking on the
script name a dialog opens asking if I want to Run the script or Quit.

What am I doing wrong?

Greg
