I haven't tried this myself, but it's worth an attempt: see what happens if
you "create" the message in a special folder, then move it by script to the
regular Inbox. Since Rules are applied when a message is downloaded to the
Inbox, this just might work (though I doubt it).

Try it again when you move up to ADSL or cable. You won't notice bandwidth
or connection time problems at all.
