mounting a SNAP! server

I am trying to mount a Quantum SNAP! server but using any of these
forms I get an error -1070:
mount volume "afp://user:password@ipaddress/share/"
or
mount volume "afp://ipaddress/share/" as user name "username" with
password "password"
or
mount volume "share" on server "servername" as user name "username"
with password "password"
Does anyone know what this error is and/or are there known issues
with SNAP! servers and AppleScript?
I'm using AppleScript 1.4.3 on OS 9.0.2.
